Immigration into Austria

If one looks at the geographic location of the country and its history, it becomes clear that today’s Austria looks back on a long tradition of immigration. However, the fact that Austria has long become an immigration country (again) is neither recognized officially nor has it infiltrated the awareness of the general public. On the contrary: politicians and media still maintain that Austria, in spite of her high immigration rate, is no immigration country.
